Then I noticed a plastic object stuck between the film advance and the shutter mechanism. Maybe I’ll find a movement that’s not returning to its resting position after the film is wound on.
Save Cancel Drag to set position! There are gears in there that could cause trouble. I played around with the film advance lever and shutter button until I noticed that the film advance electtro wouldn’t advance any more.
Sometime later at the repair shop they found some teeth stripped off the gears in the mechanism I also have this problem currently.

I tested the yashiva advance and shutter, and they both worked just fine! Otherwise you are into taking off the lens from the front to get access to the winding mech under the viewfinder. The film take up spool moves a little, but does not turn as much as the lever a quarter turn.
The film lever doesnt rotate completely and the shutter button is locked. Can someone please explain to me how I can “fully wind on” my camera?
Then you can do some more pushing and pulling to see where the jam might be. I took my electro to a stucl who essentially said it was “totaled” and they wouldn’t even look at it. And yes, all the full sized Electro’s are mechanically the same. Rotated – the film lever doesn’t rotate completely.
